Prom and Prejudice-Elizabeth Eulberg
One of the hallmarks of a great story is that it can be taken many years later, twisted and updated and still remain completely enchanting. Jane Austen’s classic Pride and Prejudice is one such work. Eulberg stays true to the characters and follows the general scheme of the plot here in Prom and Prejudice. Lizzie and Darcy are as charming as ever in this modern prep school version of the story. I found this to be a cute adaption, similar to April Linder’s Jane. Both books update the plots to a contemporary setting without sacrificing the characters or intent of the plot. Young readers who are intimidated by the language of the original will find Prom and Prejudice a good stand in.
